Scottish artists Rod and Ann McCance work and live in the picturesque village of Lakones not far from Arillas.
We are delighted to be able to offer their skills to our guests, with art lessons, demonstrations and lectures held in the comfort of Villa Linakis. The course is organised over a three day period and welcomes participants of all abilities, including absolute beginners. In addition to the three days there will be an informal introductory get together to meet your tutor and receive your course programme. The course content will include an introduction to artists' materials, demonstrations by the tutor, practical sessions, question and answer slot and end of course critique. The aim is to provide an informative and enjoyable course in a relaxed atmosphere. About Your Tutor - Rod McCance Born in 1950, Rod is the great nephew of Scottish artist William McCance 1894-1970. Rod studied in Glasgow and after originally following a career in engineering reverted to his first love - painting. His artistic career has produced a plethora of colourful and varied works, many of which can be found in collections throughout the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada. In the past Rod has often demonstrated for the renowned artists' manufacturers Winsor & Newton and Daler Rowney, as well as being a regular guest at local art clubs and societies. Just over six years ago, Rod along with his wife Ann, made the decision to relocate to Corfu. They opted to settle in the picturesque and inspirational village of Lakones where they have successfully combined their home and gallery. Details: Welcome Meeting: The evening prior to the start of the course Ann and Rod will hold a short introduction meeting (with drinks and nibbles) to go over the programme for the next few days. The Programme will be held over three days - 2 days together with 'rest' day in between 2nd & 3rd day. Course hours: Morning session: 10am - 13.00 (with coffee break in between.) Lunch: 13.00 - 13.45 Afternoon session: 13.45 - 16.00 Cost: 215 €. per person to include welcome meeting, classes' incl. basic materials, lunch & refreshments. |
